September 2011 Issue of PhotoComment Magazine

The September issue of the magazine is live you can jump straight into the magazine. The cover is by Torben Geve who is a Danish based photographer and is this month’s Pro Portfolio feature on Page 8.

Editor’s Comment

Armani opens up this issue with some thoughts on the direction new cameras are taking and how photographers have increasingly more capable tools and less room to blame them. Check it out on Page 4.

New cameras from Sony including the A77 which we share our thoughts briefly about on Page 5 – full review coming soon. We also look at the opening of the first iPhonegraphy exhibition in SA and Nissin’s new Di622 Mk II flash for Sony Alpha. We summarize in Scoop some of the key news over the last few weeks. Check out Page 6.

Professional Portfolio

Torben Greve is a Danish photographer who is also increasingly doing work with video. Armani poses some questions to him about working in both mediums and what inspires his work. Get the full interview on Page 8.

Reader Portfolio

Another great contributor to our Photos For Hope gallery, Natasha Davies, is this months Reader Portfolio. Page 26.

Don’t forget that you can submit your portfolios and stand a chance to win with Outdoorphoto if your portfolio is published as our Readers Portfolio.

Student Portfolio

This month’s Student Portfolio is Daniel West who studied at Open Window. Since Armani hails from the same institution he dived into Daniel’s work and what he has learnt in his studies on Page 14

Lomography Feature

In this issues Lomography feature we showcase some of Nicole Otte’s images. If you would like to have you Lomography published and win a Lomo camera submit your images. Check out the feature on Page 24.

Technique Features

Frank Krummacher‘s from the College of Digital Photography guides us through part 2 of Still Life Photography at home or in a studio on Page 20.

On Page 30 you will find our reviews on the Canon Speedlite 320EX, Lens Baby Tilt Transformer, Sony NEX-C3 and B&W Outdoor Cases.
