Mashable are reporting that Instragram are developing an app for Android. Many user like myself will likely be trying to hide our excitement and thinking “FINALLY I don’t have to regret not having an iPhone” but don’t be so quick to react. All that the report confirms is the following statement by Kevin Systrom, CEO of Instagram:
We have two people working on Android now… I’m excited to be able to see our numbers today nearly double.
There is no talk of when the app will hit the Android Market Place. Instagram currently has 50 million users in their currently iPhone exclusive format and the fact that they expect to double that when they move to Android further shows the rapidly growing adoption of Google’s smartphone OS.
