Today Nikon have a double hitter. They have announced two new lenses and that they have shipped 70 million Nikkor lenses since the first Nikkor came out in 1933. The two new lenses are the AF-S NIKKOR 24–85mm f/3.5–4.5G ED VR and AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-300MM F/3.5-5.6G ED VR. The fact that Nikon have released the largest zoom range DSLR lens with the 18-300 is rather interesting, normally that is Tamron’s claim to fame (usually followed very shortly thereafter by Sigma). We would thoroughly enjoy getting our hands on it to try out [though we are not overly hopeful these days, we’re going through a drought on Nikon review products locally].
The 24-85mm range is not new to Nikon but does add fuel to the speculation (and now leaked images of) of an upcoming, cheaper full frame body in the rumoured Nikon D600.
